Dr Alcock is an Interventional Cardiologist with a particular interest in complex coronary lesions. He is the clinical lead for the complex coronary occlusions program at Royal Perth Hospital, and is the director of the Coronary Care Unit.
Dr Alcock completed his medical degree with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2004. Prior to this he completed an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, and worked for a period of time as a physiotherapist. He completed his Advanced Cardiology training at Concord Hospital, Sydney, and then remained at Concord Hospital to complete an interventional fellowship and a higher research degree in conjunction with the University of Sydney, being awarded his Master’s degree in 2013. Following this, he undertook a further Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Edinburgh Heart Centre in Scotland. Dr Alcock commenced as an interventional cardiologist at Royal Perth Hospital in 2015.
Dr Alcock’s clinical interest and expertise includes all aspects of cardiology with a particular emphasis on complex coronary occlusions. He gained significant experience in complex intervention whilst at the Edinburgh Heart Centre, a world renowned hospital for these procedures. He has served as an invited faculty speaker at various national and international meetings in this area.
Outside of work, Dr Alcock is trying his hand at long distance triathlon as well as spending time with his young family.
